The Bubblebee Industries windbubbles are miniature windscreens that are directly aimed at wind noise suppression for lavalier microphones, ensuring the frequency through the windbubble suffers minimum damage, thus keeping it as close to the microphone's natural sound as possible.
The windbubble consists of an outer shell of the finest imitation fur and an inner core of nothing. Yes, nothing. And this nothing is exactly what makes the bubble tick. The air enters the bubble for a short visit, finds it rather dull, and quickly leaves again without harming the microphone inside. So instead of the wind hammering on the microphone and making those horrible "I'm in the middle of the hurricane"- interviews, it passes right through.
The windbubble is specially constructed to be mounted quickly and easily on the specified types of microphone, and to not fall off during use.
The windbubbles are available as singles or as a duo-pack and exist in 4 different colours (black, white, grey and brown).
There are 4 different sizes too choose from:
- BBI-L01 with elastic opening 28 mm, built for microphones with a diameter of 3 to 4 mm: Sanken COS-11 (without metal windscreen), Countryman B6, B2D, E6, Sennheiser MKE 1
- BBI-L02 with elastic opening 35 mm, built for microphones with a diameter of 5 to 8 mm: Sanken COS-11 (with small metal windscreen), Countryman B3, DPA 4060 (without metal windscreen), Sennheiser MKE 2 (without metal windscreen)
- BBI-L03 with elastic opening 40 mm, built for microphones with a diameter of 5 to 9 mm: Sanken COS-11 (with small metal windscreen), Countryman EMW, DPA 4060 (without metal windscreen), Sennheiser MKE 2 (with MZW 2 windshield)
- BBI-L04 with elastic opening 42 mm, built for microphones with a diameter of 8 to 13 mm: Sanken COS-11 (with large metal windscreen), Countryman EMW, DPA 4060 (with metal windscreen), Sennheiser ME 4, ME 102, ME 104, MKE 2 (with metal MZW 2 windshield)
