The K-Tek KP5 Mighty Boom is a 6-section "traveller" boompole that extends to 5' and collapses down to 18.5", so you can easily pack it in your suitcase or travel bag. Lightweight at 14.4 oz, it features six sections made of graphite tubes designed to increase the stiffness and optimize handling balance. The result is quicker cueing and better user control of the microphone.
The KP5 does not come with a cable. Its removable headpiece allows for various cable configurations without any soldering required. The top attachment is a 3/8"-16 male thread.
The locking collars feature a thick yet smooth surface, allowing for a more subtle gradual extension of each section. The anodized, oval divets with exterior dimples provide a great grip and smooth feel when opening and closing each collar. The finish between the tubes allows for the sections to sleekly glide open and closed. Additionally, the Mighty Boom poles are hand-burnished to diffuse handling noise.
To allow for quick conversion when working in the field, the KP5 is compatible with the KPCK5 cable kit and KPCCR Bottom Module (for conversion to a cabled boompole). It is also compatible with the KPTA Transmitter Adapter Module and KPTF Flow-Thru Module. Mighty Boom boompoles are made in the USA.
