Point Source Audio EM-i5

The modular concept supports wireless microphones or intercoms, and adapts in-ear monitoring to one or both ears from the same device. Without the constraint of a headband, the EM-i5 can be configured as needed for dual-ear isolated monitoring or single-ear situational awareness.

The EM-i5 has a frameless headset architecture offering a universal-fit design that frees users from rigid headframes in a modular concept that supports wireless microphones or intercoms, and adapts in-ear monitoring to one or both ears from the same device.

The EM-i5 is built on the patented EMBRACE on-ear mounting platform. The frameless architecture is designed to deliver a secure, stable fit that conforms ergonomically to any user, regardless of head size, ear shape, or hairstyle.

Without the constraint of a headband, the new wearable can be configured as needed for dual-ear isolated monitoring or single-ear situational awareness. A patent-pending signal integration module supports this modularity, enabling adaptation between the two use cases within a single device.

This frameless headset design is a shift in how communication headsets are designed and worn. By removing the headframe and introducing modular monitoring, Point Source Audio created a solution that is more adaptable, more comfortable, and better aligned with real-world production needs.

As wireless environments evolve, including the adoption of WMAS, the EM-i5 provides a single wearable interface that supports one or two wireless devices. A series of modular connectors enables the EM-i5 user to move between wireless microphones, such as Shure and Sennheiser, and intercom platforms that includes Clear-Com and Riedel.

The EM-i5’s interchangeable earphones are build on the company’s CM-i3 and CM-i5 in-ear headsets. Allowing users to swap the included earphones with preferred custom in-ear monitors to help ensure a more personalized fit and listening experience while maintaining system compatibility.
