The Harp Blaster HB52, dynamic harmonica microphone, is the result of a collaboration between HOHNER and sE Electronics. Setting a new standard, the Harp Blaster HB52 is based on input from a select group of professional players and modelled on the sound of legendary vintage harmonica microphones.

Perfectly designed to bring out all the creativity. It is comfortable to hold, even for a long time. Music can emerge unhindered with maximum sound quality and expression. Suitable for professionals on tour and designed to uncompromising standards. Combines fantastic sound quality with optimum ease of use and maximum durability.
The sE Electronics Harp Blaser HB52 It's no secret that many contemporary harmonica microphones lag behind sonically and physically compared to their vintage counterparts. We wanted to change that: behold the introduction of the Harp Blaster HB52. Designed with passion and great attention to detail by HOHNER and sE Electronics, specifically for today's players. Instead of looking at competing products to shape the sound of the Harp Blaster, we took inspiration from a select group of professional players.
The aim was to create an exceptional microphone ideally suited to their needs. Designed to uncompromising standards, fantastic sound quality combines with optimum ease of use and maximum durability. After all, if a microphone can become a seamless extension of the artist's emotional output - rather than a distraction or an obstacle - the music can be played and achieve maximum sound quality and expression unhindered. Together, HOHNER and sE pursued this ideal and created a state-of-the-art product that will satisfy the most demanding harmonica player.

Combining sE's experience in dynamic elements and acoustic design with HOHNER's unrivalled competence in harmonicas for more than 160 years, the Harp Blaster meets the highest expectations of performing musicians and demanding sound engineers. With its highly accurate element and sophisticated shape, the microphone is the perfect size for easy cupping and handling. It responds instantly to your hand technique and musical expression. Moreover, the Harp Blaster HB52 has been designed with input from professional harmonica players to ensure that it is comfortable to hold and use (for long periods of time). The high output level and high impedance will drive your amp well without the need for a DI, impedance converters, boost pedals or stomp boxes.

Besides its convenient size, the Harp Blaster's flat and sleek grille ensures a perfect fit and enables powerful hand effects. The Harp Blaster HB52 is a seriously modern microphone with components of the highest quality. It is entirely handmade from metal and has a thick cast body with zinc alloy components and chrome detailing. Not only can it withstand the uniquely harsh conditions a harmonica microphone might face every night; it will do so while enabling a much better kank compared to other harmonica microphones. The microphone has a volume control that uses a Bourns® potentiometer and a knurled chrome knob with diamond pattern, making it slip-resistant and reliable. If you prefer not to have a volume control, it can be switched off internally.

We have chosen to use an XLR connector instead of an attached cable, a 6.35mm-jack jack or a screw-on connector. This is often the Achilles' heel with harmonica microphones. A connected cable can easily catch a broken solder joint, turning the microphone into a paperweight until it can be repaired. An XLR connector offers better connectivity that does not become problematic or noisy (cracking and/or rustling) over time. The internal locking mechanism adds extra signal protection - in case, for example, the cable is pulled, snagged somewhere or someone steps on it.

However, the locking mechanism of the HB52's XLR connector can also be easily disabled, if that is your preference.
